Ring in the New Year!

I’m still playing Alpha Sapphire, trying to train the Pokémon left in my PC boxes and catching the ones I have yet to register in my Dex…haven’t been to the Battle Resort that much but working on it. I caught Dexoys finally and Thundurous later on (it was so easy). I’ve gotta get back to playing Super Smash Bros (3DS) as well.

This will be my last post in 2014, so I just wanted to wish everyone a happy New Year! ^_^  Hope y’all have fun and celebrate to your heart’s content; be safe. I’ll be partying too lol.

2014 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2014 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 1,800 times in 2014. If it were a cable car, it would take about 30 trips to carry that many people.

Side Games

How’s it going ppl? I know I’ve been updating you on my progress in Alpha Sapphire: now I have caught additional legendaries (i.e. the 3 Regis, Cobalion, Terrakion, Virizion, Azelf, Mesprit and Uxie), defeated the Elite Four round 2, and trying to beat Master Rank in the Coolness contest. However, I’d like to take a slight detour this time. There have been many talks about other games that Pokémon is working on, namely “Pokken Tournament.” I mentioned this game-in-progress in a previous post; it’s pretty much like Tekken just with Pokémon as fighters.

There is another fighting-style like game in the works called “Pokémon: Type Wild” for PC. It’s similar to Pokken where different species fight each other. However, unlike Pokken, there are other non-fighting type Pokémon you can play as such as Gengar and Snorlax. The screen format and controls reminds me of Street Fighter mostly. Despite the game still in the making, there is plenty of buzz about it! It’s sort of game retro if you think about it. Can’t go wrong with something retro I suppose…

Anyways the game is still incomplete but you can download a demo of it. I have heard that it’s difficult to find a free or safe downloadable version of the game (that might be the full version) but it’s all mixed and confusing so I won’t go into it. Here’s the article about it from Kotaku as well as some of the game footage.

AS Progress: part 4

Hey ppl. How’s your progress going in ORAS? I finally completed the Delta episode. For all it’s worth, the graphics were pretty cool; when you fly into space with Rayquaza and shatter the asteroid is just amazing. How Deoxys came out could have been better but still good. Rayquaza was much easier to catch this time around. I’m guessing because its level 70 and your team should be in the 60’s by now they had to increase the capture rate. To make it even more easier even if you accidentally defeat it in battle, it comes back and you can try again. Took me 2 tries: accidentally knocked it out on the first try then caught on the second try with a Great Ball. With that one ball I caught it, either my hypothesis was correct or I just got lucky. Unfortunately, this was not the case with Deoxys. At level 80 this thing was annoying. It’s Pressure ability combined with using Recover and Cosmic Power made it a real pain to defeat let alone catch. Even with Mega Rayquaza it was difficult to get Deoxys weak enough to attempt capture. Rayquaza got knocked with a critical hit by its Psycho Boost, thankfully my Metagross was strong enough defensively to last in the long run. I decided to end the battle and knocked out Deoxys, thus saving the world!

Thankfully though, I learned that I can recapture Deoxys at Sky Pillar once I defeat the Elite 4 again. After all the dialogue was done I got to choose starter Pokémon from Johto and Unova from Prof Birch, so I got Cyndaquil and Oshawott ^_^

I then went hunting for the scanner in Sea Mauville to get the Tidel Bell from Capt Stern. Later went back to the ship, in the underwater basement where the portal was now sitting at. Interacted with it and out comes Lugia. It took me a while but I caught it too. On a side note, I’ve been hearing rumors that these ring shaped portals (3 appear at a time) are the result of Hoopa: a Pokemon that hasn’t been released in-game yet. Hoopa is shrouded in mystery and not much is known about it but, it is real. I doubt GameFreak would waste their time making a sprite and exclusive moves for this Pokémon if it wasn’t real. Also, Hoopa carries 3 rings on its body, the same number as the portals that show up in ORAS at one time. Hoopa does seem to have the ability to travel through portals and possibly other dimensions… We’ll just have to see.

Anyways, next on my list are the Regi’s.

AS Progress: part 3

Defeated the Elite Four and the Champion 2 days ago. Now I’m working my way through the “Delta Episode.” Warning: Spoilers Ahead!

Matt (one of the Admins of Team Aqua) is an idiot. I don’t know if he’s stupid or just that stubborn. Archie learned from his mistake and moved on with Shelly (the other Admin), why can’t you do the same? Kind of a good thing that Zinnia arrived and took the warp device from him and crushed it, even though everyone was riding on that device to warp the asteroid away from the planet… There’s still a lot more for me to go through; I’ll play again tonight to see. Anyways here’s my team of 6 at the moment; the same team I used to beat the Pokémon League:

-Swampert lvl 61

-Metagross lvl 60

-Seras (Mightyena) lvl 59

-Bolt (Manectric) lvl 58

-Swellow lvl 57

-Kyogre lvl 56
