News Updates…and Zeraora?

So this will be a quick post. Just a quick overview of what’s already happening and other things to come. Let’s get started then.

First off, the newest Pokémon movie is set to release in July 2018 in Japanese theaters. Its official name hasn’t been revealed yet but it does continue where the previous I Choose You movie left off. Ash still wears the same hat from that previous film. Also, it features a new female character. Here’s the link to the trailer. English translations will be made soon.

Next up, my progress in Pokémon Ultra Sun. Currently, I’m grinding before I take on Team Rainbow Rocket at the Aether Paradise. I got a good look at their teams and realized I need a bit more training. On the plus side, I caught Zygarde last night. Still have to catch Necrozma though. At the moment here’s my current team:

-Primarina lvl 76

-Vikavolt lvl 75

-Lycanroc (Dusk Form) lvl 74

-Noivern lvl 73

-Arbok lvl 74

-Type: Null lvl 69

Also, the Ultra Beast Poipole that you received from the Ultra Recon Squad can evolve into the Poison/Dragon type Naganadel. Once you teach Poipole Dragon Pulse and level it up, it will evolve. This is the only Ultra Beast to have an evolution.

804Naganadel

The last piece of news I have is about Zeraora. This is the specific event only Pokémon for Ultra Sun and Moon. Not much is known right now. However, here’s what we do know:

zeraora

Zeraora is an Electric type with the ability Volt Absorb. It is Genderless (as are most legendaries) with a high Speed stat. It stands at just 4’11” and weighs on average 98.1 lbs, although it’s just relative since Pokédex entries aren’t the most realistic at times. Zeraora can only be received in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon and is known as the “Thunderclap Pokémon.” Zeraora’s main form of attack are its sharp claws. In its shiny form its fur is white as opposed to yellow. Its official dex entries are as follows:

-Ultra Sun: It electrifies its claws and tears its opponents apart with them. Even if they dodge its attack, they’ll be electrocuted by the flying sparks

-Ultra Moon: It approaches its enemies at the speed of lightning, then tears them limb from limb with its sharp claws

Zeraora’s event release date is still unknown but be on the lookout. It might quite possibly appear in an upcoming film.

That’s all the news for now. This post took longer than expected, sorry I was writing while watching the Santa Clause 2. Thank you for reading and see you next time. Happy Holidays!

Pokemon Ultra Sun: Manny’s Progress

Pokemon Ultra Sun: Manny’s Progress

Hey ppl! This will be a quick post going over my experience playing through Ultra Sun and a few changes I’ve noticed.

As you already know, Water types have always been my favorite and, in a game that culminates all 20 years of Pokémon, I figured this one would be no different. I chose Popplio as my starter. Currently, I’ve defeated 2 Totems, cleared 1 Grand Trial, and 2 trials on Akala Island. I’m on my way to Lush Jungle for Mallow’s Trial.

Now, the games have been out for about a week now but still have to warn those who haven’t played yet. Warning, SPOILERS are coming! Anyways, unlike in Sun and Moon the second totem you must face isn’t Wishiwashi (School Form), instead it’s Araquanid with a boost in Speed. Its Ally Pokémon are Dewpider and Masquerain. Be ready because Araquanid holds a Wacan berry which weakens one Electric type move; caught me off guard when I fought it. It also loves to use the move Bubble to reduce your team’s Speed.  Also, in Kiawe’s Trial, the totem is Alolan Marowak with the Ally Pokémon being Salazzle. As an added note, be on the lookout for Totem Stickers. Collecting enough will give you access to your own Totem-sized Pokémon.

In one of my previous posts I mentioned the presence of Team Skull as being a potential ally to your travels and not an antagonist. Well I was sorta wrong, Team Skull grunts still act the same way as before. Maybe later on Guzma will have a change of heart and aid you in the final battles, after battling him a few times. If you want to know more, here’s the link.

One last thing, here’s my current team:

-Brionne lvl 29

-Charjabug lvl 27

-Rockruff, Dusk lvl 27

-Lopunny lvl 26

-Nova (Noibat) lvl 26

-Arbok lvl 27

Hope the rest of you are enjoying your journey! See you next time!

Changes to Pokemon GO! And More Part 2

Changes to Pokemon GO! And More Part 2

So this is going to be a brief recap entry. I’ll just be going over the few updates to the Pokémon GO app and a few other events I left out on my previous post.

The most notable change is regarding Raid Bosses. As you’ve seen already new Raid Bosses have appeared, such as Sableye and Nidoking, and others have disappeared, including Quilava and Muk. The Legendary roster has also shifted. Suicune is now loose in North America, Entei roams free in Asia and Asia Pacific, and Raikou takes residence in Europe. This event is set to end November 30th, so get them while you can! Lastly, the time limit has decreased from 1 hour to 45 minutes for raids.

In addition, I finally managed to hatch a Porygon!

Porygon pokemon go_Manny12K

My actual image from Pokémon GO

Speaking of apps, a new app has just revealed called Pikachu Talk. This allows you to use Amazon Alexa and Google Home to talk to Pikachu. It’s a free app and will be available in Japan later this year and internationally in 2018. We can expect a lot of talking to be going on after release.

pikachu_talk_app

Next up is Global Link events. I usually don’t cover these, but figured I might as well today. Following the release of Ultra Sun and Moon, if players sign up before January 30th they will receive a serial code for a Master ball. Also, the first Global Mission has be revealed. By November 28th players must collectively capture 10,000,000 Pokemon. If successful, players will win 2,000 festival coins. If not, 1,000 festival coins will be given. Those who already have a Global Link account will receive double the reward. As a reminder from November 10th-17th Global Link will be undergoing maintenance. Due to this, “functionalities such as the QR Code Rental feature, Online Competitions, and Ratings Battles will not be available during that time” (NintendoLife.com). This update is in preparation for the new games, so please be patient. The time will come….

Finally, the shiny Silvally event is coming to end next week. The event gives you a level 100 Silvally via serial code at different stores depending on your region. The North American distribution will end November 13th and you can get the codes from Gamestop. Here’s a list of where to get this Silvally globally and when the event is over:

-Germany, Gamestop Nintendo Zone until November 16th
-France, Micromania until November 16th
-Italy, Gamestop until November 16th
-Sweden, Gamestop until November 16th
-The Netherlands, Game Mania Nintendo Zone until November 16th
-Belgium, Nintendo Zone & FNAC, Game Mania & Smartoys until November 16th
-US, Gamestop until November 13th
-Canada, EB Games until November 13th
-Australia, EB Games until November 13th

Silvally arrives with the ability RKS System and holding a Gold Bottle Cap. Its moves are Multi-attack, Parting Shot, Scary Face, and Punishment.

That’s it for now. See you guys next time!

Updates: Giovanni Returns! And More!

Updates: Giovanni Returns! And More!

Hey everyone. I know I’m really really late with this post. As the holiday season approaches, my schedule has been hectic. Plus, my router died so I’ve been without internet for a week but I just got it back. For the most part I’ll just be doing this as a recap. Pokémon Ultra Sun and Moon are only 1 week away! Let’s get started.

First off, I want to get this info out of the way. It was revealed that the points gained from Mantine Surf is used to teach your Pokémon unique moves via Move Tutors. Yes, move tutors make a return to the games. Receiving these points in this fashion makes it way more fun than in previous games. I can’t wait to shred a “Huntail Spiral” move soon. Moving on, next is Z-Moves.

Z-Moves:

As it stands, we have 5 confirmed Z-moves: Clangorous Soulblaze (Kommo-o), Splintered Stormshards (Lycanroc), Searing Sunraze Smash (Dusk Mane Necrozma), Menacing Moonraze Maelstrom (Dawn Wings Necrozma), and the recently revealed Let’s Snuggle Forever (Mimikyu). Seriously, the western translation for Mimikyu’s exclusive Z-move is “Let’s Snuggle Forever!” Basically, with love from its trainer, Mimikyu smothers its opponent underneath its Pikachu disguise and beats the heck out of it. The unfortunate opponent is forced to see Mimikyu’s real form which was so terrifying it nearly killed Meowth in the anime! In order to use this Z-move in battle Mimikyu must know the move Play Rough. Check out the trailer here.

Totem Pokémon & Stickers:

Totem Pokemon_collection

A new feature introduced in Ultra Sun and Moon is Totem Stickers. Journeying through the Alola region you will find these stickers of island totems. After collecting enough of them you will receive the actual Totem Pokémon themselves! We know of 3 totem sized Pokémon so far: Gumshoos, Lurantis (Ultra Sun only), and Salazzle (Ultra Moon only).

Battle Agency:

Spicing up the Festival Plaza feature is the Battle Agency. This new area is akin to the Battle Factory from Hoenn and Sinnoh and allows the player to rent various Pokémon to do battle, including several legendaries. The format is Single-Battle only, possibly due to data constraints. At first, you have a limited selection of Pokémon. As you defeat trainers along the way, you will receive certain items such as Gold Bottle Caps. Speaking with others in the Festival Plaza unlocks more Pokémon for you to use. This feature somewhat reminds me of Pokémon Stadium from the N64.

Team Rainbow Rocket:

I saved this post for last, as it would’ve been kinda lengthy. Long time no see, Giovanni… Yup you heard me right, Giovanni is back and badder than ever! He’s now the leader of the new Team Rainbow Rocket which has taken over the Aether Paradise and Festival Plaza. The insignia is the same “R” for Rocket but rainbow colored. Giovanni has also recruited some familiar faces into this organization. The tag “Battle through 20 years of Villainy” is right. Reaching out to the other leaders from team antagonists from previous games here they are:

-Maxie, Team Magma

-Archie, Team Aqua

-Cyrus, Team Galactic

-Ghetsis, Team Plasma

-Lysandre, Team Flare

How Giovanni got these guys to follow him is a mystery. What’s even more interesting is how Giovanni was able to reach out to them. There are several questions surrounding this, especially with Cyrus and Lysandre. Remember Cyrus was sucked into the Distortion World by Girantina and Lysandre blew himself up in a failed attempt to use the Ultimate Weapon on the Kalos region. I wasn’t even sure if Lysandre survived that ordeal. How could Giovanni get to them? There are several rumors going around that he was able to create the technology to make a gateway similar to a wormhole and possibly used Mewtwo’s psychic power to help stabilize this gateway. Then he traveled to alternate dimensions. It was also mentioned that this wormhole transcends time and space, which would explain why the designs for Maxie and Archie are from the original Ruby and Sapphire games and not the remakes. Proving his power with Mewtwo Giovanni probably convinced the other leaders to join his cause. What team wants with Alola is still unclear but they are nonetheless an obstacle the player must conquer.

Team_Rainbow_Rocket_art_1042x636

In the center right corner of the artwork poster you’ll notice the trainer Faba from the Aether Paradise. Seems in this alternate timeline he’s sided with Team Rainbow Rocket. He might play the role of their scientist and may even have his own goals to achieve. At the bottom is the player and his allies which includes Wicke and Guzman. Team Skull no longer seems to be your rivals anymore. Each member of Rainbow Rocket will battle you with at least 1 signature Pokémon on their roster, so far only Giovanni, Cyrus, Ghetsis, and Lysandre are known. However, we can assume that Maxie will have Camerupt or some other Fire type and Archie will use Sharpedo or another Water type. Giovanni uses Mewtwo which can mega evolve into Mega Mewtwo Y. Guessing Giovanni recaptured Mewtwo (or at least convinced it back to his side). Cyrus has Houndoom, Ghetsis has Hydreigon, and Lysandre has both Pyroar and Gyarados (Mega Gyarados).

I’d like to give a shoutout to Youtuber ProtoMario. His theory videos are great and feature lots of content. Please check out his take on Team Rainbow Rocket. He goes more in detail on Giovanni specifically, in that this Giovanni is the same one that Red and Gold defeated back in the R/B/Y and G/S games; not one from an alternate timeline. Giovanni stated he would return after his defeat in Johto (that’s if you managed to activate the Celebi event).

Island Scan:

It was revealed that the QR Scanner will return to Ultra Sun and Moon. This will allow you to use Island Scan to catch Pokémon that weren’t available in Sun and Moon, such as Charmander and Grovyle.

Version Exclusives:

As always not every Pokémon is available in both games. The version exclusives for Sun and Moon return for the new Ultra games with some new additions. This is especially important for legendaries in particular. For example, using the Ultra Wormholes post-game you can catch Ho-oh in Ultra Sun but not Ultra Moon, same goes for Lugia in Ultra Moon. Here’s a list of these exclusives from Serebii.

Future of Pokémon Games:

It was confirmed that Ultra Sun and Moon will be the last main Pokémon games for the 3DS. Game Freak and Nintendo has pushed the 3DS to its limits. A stronger system is needed to handle more data and improved graphics. With a new Pokémon RPG on the rise for the Switch, this makes sense. During a recent interview Game Freak director Shigeru Ohmori stated:

“When we were making Pokémon X and Y, we really were trying to push the 3DS system to its absolute limits – which is what we thought we’d done…when Sun and Moon came around, we completely redesigned the system, and actually ended up pushing the 3DS even further to what we thought was the most we could draw out of it.”

He followed that up with “With Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, we’ve tried to eke that out more and really, really push the system to its absolute limits, and we’re now feeling that perhaps this is the maximum of what we can get out. So we’re really treating Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon as the ‘culmination’ of our work with the 3DS system.”

That about sums it up. Now this doesn’t mean Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon will be the last Pokémon games on the 3DS system, just the last core versions of the series. Can’t wait to see what’s in store for the Nintendo Switch. As always, thank you all for reading and enjoy your weekend.

Ultra Sun & Moon Updates!

Ultra Sun & Moon Updates!

Hey ppl! We’ve got some newly released info regarding Ultra Sun and Moon. New Ultra Beasts, vast unexplored areas, a new team to deal with, and more! So without further ado, let’s get started shall we…

Two trailers have just released. The first revealing details about Necrozma’s role in the story. A mysterious man named “Zionira” explains Necrozma’s effect on the Alola region as an “entity who steals light.” The video then shows the climatic battle between Necrozma and Solgaleo/Lunala which ends with Necrozma assimilating with either legendary and becoming Dusk Mane or Dawn Wings Necrozma. Also, the Ultra Beasts show up and present themselves in front of the island Kahunas. Guzma makes his appearance as well although, we’re not sure what role Team Skull will play this time around. Here’s the link to this trailer. It’s in Japanese but once I get the English version I’ll update it.

The second trailer introduces us to the new Ultra Beasts Burst, Assembly, and now Adhesive. It also shows the player riding on Solgaleo or Lunala through Ultra Space (the realm of Ultra Beasts). I’ll be breaking down each topic below so please bear with me. Check out the this trailer here.

Ultra Beasts:

The typing for the 3 new Ultra Beasts has been revealed finally. UB Burst is Fire/Ghost which took me by surprise; thought it would be something like Fairy or Fairy/Ghost. Anyway it has a new move called Mind Blown. The effect of this move is unknown but from what was seen in the last trailer it drops Burst’s HP down to half to cause massive damage. Its Pokédex entry states “Burst tricks targets into letting their guard down as it draws near with its funny gait, swaying this way and that—then shocks them by blowing up its own head without warning. Before they can recover their senses, it steals their vitality, which it’s said to use as a source of energy.” Next, is UB Assembly which is a Rock/Steel. During the trailer it was shown the ability to use the moves Iron Defense and Iron Head. According to its Pokédex entry, “While Assembly may appear to be made up of stones stacked atop one another, apparently each ‘stone’ is in fact a separate life-form, and this UB is made up of an assemblage of these life-forms.” Lastly, we have UB Adhesive which is a Poison type. Not much else is known but it was in the possession of the new team called the “Ultra Recon Squad.” It is stated that “Adhesive’s large head is filled with venom, and it fires this venom from the poisonous needles on top of it“. All 3 of these Pokémon have the Beast Boost ability.

Ultra Space:

We all remember going through the Ultra Wormhole with our respective legendary in Sun and Moon. This time around we get a much more engaging journey. Now you can travel into the Ultra Space while riding Solgaleo or Lunala where you control their movements until you reach your destination. Legendary PokéRide anyone? As an added bonus, you can visit the Ultra Beasts on their home turf. So far, we have only seen Nihilego’s home since that was where Lusamine and Guzma traveled to. The trailer showcases some of the Ultra Beasts domain including Buzzwole living in some jungle-esque area with several tall spiraling platforms. This gives us a whole new perspective on the ecology of the Ultra Beasts and adds more depth to their story.  This will likely be part of the post game where you must go into Ultra Space, locate each Ultra Beast, and gather further intel on them. There is another place you can visit in these areas and that is the “Ultra Megalopolis.” More on that below.

New Areas:

A brand new area has opened up right in Ultra Space. Its name is the Ultra Megalopolis and it is home to the Ultra Recon Squad. Apparently, Necrozma has stolen all the light from this place but the reason is unknown. It has the appearance of a futuristic city with a technologically advanced society. The centerpiece of this area is a tower where the player is confronted by Necrozma in the main story.

New Team:

Aside from Team Skull and the Aether Foundation from the previous games, we have an entirely new team to deal with called the Ultra Recon Squad. This mysterious team hails from the Ultra Megalopolis. They true goal is also a mystery but it has to do with them coming to Alola to find Necrozma. Basically, Necrozma stole the light from their home and I believe they want to capture it to try and return the light. The squad is an obstacle you must face in battle. Whether they are the main antagonists is still up for debate. So far, we know they have 4 admins with them split in two for each game. In Ultra Sun we have admins Dulse and Zossie. For Ultra Moon we have admins Soliera and Phycho. Each team uses UB Adhesive to fight you. The mysterious man named Zionira from before seems to be part of this team. Here are the 4 main members with Dulse and Zossie above and Phyco and Soliera below:

Ultra_Sun_and_Moon_Recon_Squad

That’s it for Ultra Sun and Moon for now. As a last piece of info, the Sinnoh Cap Pikachu distribution event is still going on until October 9th. It comes holding the Pikashunium Z-Crystal. I’ve already downloaded this Pikachu today. It said to be received at level 10 but mine came as level 9. The reason being that I really liked the Sinnoh region and Ash’s team at that time. Also, I wanted a Pikachu that already knew Volt Tackle. Next week the Unova Cap Pikachu event will begin and run from Oct 10th-Oct 16th. As always thank you for reading and see you next time.

Pokemon News Updates!

Hey everyone. I know I’m still posting late, this time I wanted as much news to roll as as possible before posting anything. So, this will be a somewhat lengthy discussion. I’ll try to break it down into segments.

Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon:

The first piece of news deals with the upcoming Ultra Sun and Moon games. I’m sure you have already seen the recent news about Necrozma and the role it will play. Just reiterating what’s already been shown, Necrozma has assimilated with and taken over Solgaleo and Lunala. Necrozma then retains either legendary’s typing (Psychic/Steel for Solgaleo and Psychic/Ghost for Lunala) and their signature move of Sunsteel Strike or Moongeist Beam. In addition, Necrozma is renamed either Dusk Mane Necrozma (fused with Solgaleo) or Dawn Wings Necrozma (fused with Lunala) in this form.  These fusions add to weight of each Pokémon with the Solgaleo form weighing twice as much as the original. The cause for these fusions is still unknown.

Necrozma_lunala_solgaleo

Also, there are tons of fan art for these forms. One deviant in particular has created Necrozma fusions for other legendaries. His other designs are beautiful as well. His work is just amazing in my opinion. Feel free to check out his page on DeviantArt at Tomycase.

Next up is the Island Trials. So far we know of 3 changes to trials. First, the Lush Jungle trial given to you by Mallow has you searching for different items such as Big Root but, otherwise remains the same. Second, the Wela Volcano Totem Pokémon has changed from Salazzle to Alolan Marowak. Lastly, a new trial has appeared which requires you to challenge the character Mina. More info on this to come.

The recent news also reveals the version exclusives for each game. For Ultra Sun they are: Alolan Vulpix and Ninetales, Houndour, and Houndoom. For Ultra Moon: Alolan Sandshrew and Sandslash, Electrike, and Manectric. Both games also reveal a new feature called “Alola Photo Club.” This feature allows you and your Pokémon to pose for various photos. These poses include Z-Move poses and allows you to decorate the photos afterwards. The photos can then be shared for others to see. Aside from being a fun feature to use, this little side game also increases your Pokémon’s affection level in a similar way to Pokémon Refresh.

Can’t forget about PokéRide. Yes, Pokéride returns with an extra addition. Confirmed Ride Pokémon for these games include Tauros Charge (my personal favorite), Lapras Paddle, and Charizard Glide. Wait, there’s more… A new Ride Pokémon joins the team in the form of Mantine Surf. Here you ride on a Mantine like a pro surfer and actually surf to the different islands of Alola. Accessible once you reach an area called “Big Wave Beach” you can use Mantine to surf up the many large waves along the shore and do tricks midair. Every trick earns you points; the purpose of these points is still unknown. I can’t wait to try it, makes for a fun mini game. Check out the recent trailer featuring Mantine Surf for yourselves: New Trailer Link.

Downloads:

For you Pikachu fans out there today is the last day to download the Hoenn Cap Pikachu (showing of Ash’s hat from the Hoenn region). This Pikachu comes with the moves Thunderbolt, Iron tail, Quick Attack, and Thunder and is received at level 6. Use the code PIKACHU20 to activate this event. Hoenn Cap Pikachu is also holding the Pikashunium Z-Crystal. Starting tomorrow October 3rd to October 9th, Sinnoh Cap Pikachu is available at level 10 with the moves Thunderbolt, Iron Tail, Quick Attack, and Volt Tackle. This is probably the one I will be downloading.

Hoenn Cap Pikachu

Following the download trend, a Charizard distribution event has started in North America. From October 1st to October 14th special codes will be available at Target stores across the US which lets you download this Charizard. Just visit the electronics department section of your local Target store and ask for the code. This Charizard comes with the move Dragon Dance, a move it can’t learn by leveling up, and is holding the Red Card item. It also knows the moves Flare Blitz, Fly, and Earthquake and is received at level 50.

Charizard

Last on the download trend is Marshadow. The distribution event has already started in Europe which runs from October 1st-November 14th at select retailers. In North America this event runs October 9th-23rd at Gamestops nationwide. Marshadow is still received at level 50 and holds the Marshadium Z-Crystal.

Pokkén Tournament DX:

Some news on Pokkén reveals that the Mission Panels feature will be available on the DX version of the game. Mission Panels gives the player certain challenges to complete in each league. By completing Panels you get a special medal and unlock other mission panels for that league. Feel free to check out the Missions Panel Page on Serebii. Also, here are the codes to unlock the Hamburger Hat outfit for your in-game character in all regions. For male players the code is H5D9YZFETCQZ and for female players is USBXKG8X4GLG.

Nintendo Wii Shop:

The last piece of news for this post involves the Wii Shop Channel. Nintendo announced it will be discontinuing the Wii Shop Channel on January 31, 2019. After that time you won’t be able to download games off the Shop for Wii or backwards compatibility on Wii U.  Purchasing Wii points will end on March 27, 2018. However, any games you have already purchased will still be available.

That’s it for now. I will be posting all the Pokémon GO news on my next post right after this one. Thanks for checking in!

Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon: Update

Hi everyone, it’s Manny here. I’m back to give you some updates on the upcoming Ultra Sun and Moon games. Nintendo just released a promo trailer for the games that offers us a quick look at the actual game play.

The trailer announces Necrozma as the “key to the story” and features it coming face to face with either Solgaleo or Lunala (depending on which game). Necrozma then proceeds to grab them which causes a golden light to radiate outward. This is most likely how Necrozma assimilates or fuses with either legendary Pokémon. It’s stated that they have been “taken over by Necrozma.” Since these games are set in an alternate timeline from Sun and Moon, we expect a few things to be different.

The trailer also features new areas, including one called Pikachu Village where several Pikachu inhabit the area. Not much else is known about these areas yet or how to access them. Character customization also gets an upgrade with more clothing features and skin tones. Your in-game character’s default clothing also changes, more of an “I’m headed to the beach for some waves” kinda look. Moving on to Lycanroc’s Dusk Form which was shown in an actual battle. The trailer does show Lycanroc’s eyes change from green to red when attacking the opposing foe. Remember that this form of Lycanroc can only be received by distribution of the special Rockruff after the release of Ultra Sun and Moon.

There was talk about the digital versions of Pokémon Gold and Silver available beginning September 22, 2017. If you purchase one of them you will be able to receive a special gift Celebi for download in Pokémon Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, or Ultra Moon. You can also pre-purchase either Gold or Silver from the Nintendo e-Shop starting now. No need to rush, this event lasts until September 21st of next year.

251Celebi_DP_anime

New Ultra Beasts were revealed as well. They are “UB Burst” and “UB Assembly.” They are  unknown Ultra Beasts so not much info is available on them yet. Burst can only be found in Ultra Sun and Assembly in Ultra Moon. Like all Ultra Beasts, these two look a little weird… I mean Burst reminds of something I’d see in a circus performance. Assembly looks to me like a walking fortress with several eyes appearing in and out on the various blocks that make up its body.

That’s about it for now. There are a few other items discussed in the video. I just wanted to cover the main points but, feel free to checkout the trailer here from Nintendo Direct:

Pokemon News: Recap!

Hey everyone, I know I’ve been MIA for a while. A lot of stuff happened: from dealing with work, catching the summer flu, to preparing for the hurricane, my hands have been busy. I do apologize for not posting as much. I have, however, kept up with all the recent news. As a result, this post will just be a recap of everything that has occurred up until now.

First things first, Lycanroc has been given a new form called “Dusk Form.” This form looks like a cross between its Midday and Midnight forms. Its fur is golden and eyes are green but, turn red when attacking.

Lycanroc-Dusk

pokemon_sun_and_moon_anime_artwork_for_dusk_form_lycanroc

-Images from Bulbapedia

Also, it has been shown in the Alolan anime series that Ash’s Rockruff will evolve into this Dusk Form. As for the video games, a special Rockruff will be made available for download on the Nintendo Network (this is the only way to get a Dusk Form Lycanroc). It has the ability Tough Claws. This Rockruff can evolve into Dusk Form starting November 17, 2017-January 10, 2018, so make sure you evolve it within that time frame.

Ultra Sun and Moon are also bringing in more exclusive Z-moves for certain Pokémon. Kommo-o is one of the revealed Pokémon with its exclusive Z-move called “Clangorous Soulblaze” which is a Dragon type move. Kommo-o moves the various scales on its body as it dances before jumping up and unleashing its power. This move also increases all of Kommo-o’s stats by 1 stage. More news to come as this story develops. Check out the trailer on Kommo-o here.

New areas and characters have been shown for Ultra Sun and Moon, including a unique  island that has been added to the map of Alola. Not much is known but more news to come in the following months.

As for Pokkén Tournament, the demo for the game is out now for both Europe and America on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch. Players can play up to 15 battles in the demo as either Charizard, Pikachu, or Empoleon.

For those of you in Japan, a shiny Mimikyu is available for download in Pokémon Centers and Pokémon stores across the nation. This distribution ties in with a special Halloween clothing line in Japan appropriately named Shiny Ghost Party. The download lasts from September 22nd-November 16th. Based on move sets I’m probably going to go for either Hoenn, Sinnoh, or Kalos Cap Pikachu. The new “I Choose You” movie will be coming to select American theaters around that time as well with international releases to follow. Stay tuned. That’s it for now, stayed tuned for my Pokémon GO post which I will upload after this one. Again, thank you to my readers for baring with me. I really appreciate it.

Let’s Get Ultra: Sun and Moon style!

Let’s Get Ultra: Sun and Moon style!

Looks like the latest Pokémon games have been revealed, and no it’s not Gen 4 remakes like many of us thought. No, it’s something better…

*drum roll*….. Introducing, Pokémon Zoids!

ultra solgaleo_sprite

Lol just kidding. The actual titles are Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. Seriously though, tell me Solgaleo doesn’t look like Liger Zero or more specifically Liger Phoenix. Now we don’t have much to go on for these games, except that Necrozma has plays a larger part in the story. This makes sense seeing that Necrozma didn’t get much of an explanation in Sun and Moon. Instead, it got pushed off to the side in favor of the Ultra Beasts. In the upcoming games it apparently fuses with Solgaleo and Lunala, encasing them in black crystal armor.

This somewhat mirrors Black and White Kyurem from Gen 5. The helmet construction on each showcases a unique color crystal pattern similar to Necrozma’s face; the main difference being eye color. Both legendaries also sport Necrozma’s arms. How this fusion happens is still a mystery. The trailer does offer an possible clue: towards the end, it shows the player turning the Z-crystal on their Z-ring causing a great energy to emit outward as a result. The Z-crystal also appeared differently, showing a 3 diamond shape pattern rather than a single.

The will be numerous changes found in Ultra Sun and Moon that weren’t in the original series. Again, not a lot of news yet on what these changes are. The only thing we know of is that the games exist in an alternate timeline from the original series. However, I’ve been reading up on what others have speculated on Youtube and other sites. I’ll list some of their opinions as well as my own on what could be included in the new series. Here we go…

New expected changes:

-Access to the Ultra Space dimension

-Option to rebattle Trial Captains with stronger teams

-More battle related trials

-Rebattle Team Skull members or Guzma post game

-Able to travel to the Kanto region (the most speculated)

-Able to travel more by sea to each island

-More fishing areas/greater chances of catching fishing-only Pokémon

-Option to battle Lillie in Kanto (once a day)

-Option to battle Gladion post game (once a day)

-Upgrade or tweak the Festival Plaza

-New Z-moves

-Less guidance by RotomDex

One more added bonus. Another event has been announced which ties into the Pokémon: I Choose You movie. According to Serebii, a 7th Ash Cap Pikachu will be distributed for Ultra Sun and Moon. This Pikachu wears the cap Ash has in the upcoming movie. As of now it can only be obtained by QR Code during the movie screening in Japan exclusively. More info to be revealed on this event later.

That’s all I’ve got so far. More to come as updates pour in. Pokémon Ultra Sun and Moon are set to release November 17, 2017 globally.
